The Director and the Committee of the Postgraduate Studies Program (PSP-MSc) entitled “Advanced Prosthetics in Dental Technology” of the Department of Dental Technology of the Department of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health and Welfare Professions, University of Western Attica, has the special pleasure of welcoming you to PMS and its online spaces.

Subject – Purpose – Language of instruction

The purpose of the PSP- Master’s Degree is to provide a high-level postgraduate education in the scientific field of Dental Technology, specifically in the design, manufacture and repair of various types of dental prosthetic restorations in the light of modern technology and materials science as they are currently evolving in global scientific community and market. Also, the production of new knowledge and the promotion of research in the field of materials and means of dental technology as well as the training of new academic teachers and researchers, who will be able to produce, process and teach this knowledge, thus reproducing the academic community.

After completing the PSP, graduates will be able:

  • To design and create all types of dental prostheses utilizing cutting edge technologies.
  • To make optimal use of digital technology design tools (software) and robotics (hardware).
  • To organize and operate Dental Technology laboratories with modern logistical infrastructure as qualified scientific staff (provided they are also Dental Technology graduates).
  • To understand the concepts of quality, cost, reliability, functionality, and to evaluate based on international specifications and studies the methods and means of construction in order to operate a Dental Technology laboratory with the maximum possible quality and productivity (if it is parallel for Dental Technology graduates).
  • As part of the collective work, to participate in a working group with specialist dentists or other dental technologists, for the design and construction of prosthetic works.
  • To plan, bibliographically support and prepare research studies on subjects of their science as well as participate in research groups.
  • To be employed at the various levels of education, in accordance with the applicable legislation.
  • To be employed in industry in units related to the production of biomaterials related to their science.

Additionally for the Dentist graduates of the program:

  • To provide high-quality health services to their patients in the field of Dental Prosthetics, which is ensured by the knowledge of the laboratory part of the manufacturing of dental prosthetics with state-of-the-art technologies.
  • Familiarize themselves with the multiple benefits of communicating with fellow Dental Technologists through modern technology.

The courses of the program are taught in the Greek language.
